VIDEOKINGS — Schools in Canada say they can vaccinate children without needing parental consent.

The premier of Canada’s province Nova Scotia and Dr. Robert Strang, the province’s chief medical officer of health, provided an update on the provincial response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. The premier and Dr. Strang are joined virtually by Dr. Brendan Carr, the president of the Nova Scotia Health Authority, who provides an update on an outbreak in a hospital unit. Twelve patients and four staff members have tested positive so far in that outbreak. The source of the outbreak is currently unknown. The provincial update comes as vaccine eligibility in Nova Scotia is expanded to people 30 and older.
