Amsterdam, the Netherlands - The Netherlands entered its toughest phase of anti-coronavirus restrictions to date, activating a nationwide night-time curfew from 9 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. starting on Saturday January 23 in a bid to control the COVID-19 infection rate.

In Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven many people went to the streets on Sunday to demonstrate against the new measure. Dutch Riot police attended in large numbers as well, which resulted in a confrontation between both sides.
