Landslide wiping out complete village in the southwest of China
DANBA, CHINA – Heavy rain in the southwest of China (Danba) triggered mudslides and flooding that trapped at least 14 people who were later rescued. A search was under way for two people still missing after the disaster, which also created a barrier lake that threatens more than a dozen villages downstream.
On June 18th more than 20,000 people already were evacuated after a landslide hit Danba county in China’s southwestern province of Sichuan province.
